Privacy & security

You're trusting us with your money data. Here's how we handle it.

Bablo only works if you connect your real accounts, so we've tried to earn that. This page is the plain-English version of what we do and don't do. The full privacy policy has every detail.

👀

Read-only, always

Bablo can see your transactions so it can budget. It cannot move money, make a payment, or transfer a dollar — the connection simply doesn't have that power.

🏦

We never see your bank password

You enter it directly into Plaid's secure flow. We get back a token, never your credentials. There's nothing for us to leak.

🚫

Never sold, never advertised against

No ads, no data brokers, no tracking SDKs. You pay for the app, which is exactly why we don't need to monetize you some other way.

🗑️

Delete it all, in two taps

Me tab, Delete account. Connections, transactions, goals, profile — gone for good, no email thread required.

01The connection is one-way

When you link a bank, Bablo receives permission to read your balances and transactions. That's the whole grant. There is no payment capability attached to it, no transfer capability, and no way for us to add one later without you going through linking again.

This matters most in the worst case. Even if someone broke into our systems tomorrow, the bank connection could not be used to move your money — because that capability was never part of it.

You can cut the connection whenever you want. Unlinking a bank in Bablo revokes the connection at the source, so the key we were given stops working — and removes that bank's accounts and transactions from Bablo. Most banks also let you switch off third-party access from their own website, if you'd rather do it there.

02Your bank login never touches our servers

Bablo uses Plaid to handle bank connections — the same infrastructure behind many of the largest finance apps in the US. When you link an account, you type your credentials into Plaid's flow, not ours.

What comes back to us is a token: a key that lets us fetch your transactions, and nothing else. We never receive, store, or transmit your bank username or password, and we never ask you for them. If anyone claiming to be Bablo ever does, it isn't us.

03We don't sell your data, and the business doesn't depend on it

Plenty of free finance apps make money by turning your spending into a product. We took the subscription route specifically so we'd never be in that position.

04How your data is protected

No system is ever perfectly secure, and we're wary of anyone who claims otherwise. What we can promise is that we keep as little as the app actually needs, and we guard what's left.

05Where your data lives, and who touches it

Bablo runs from the United States and your data is stored on servers there. Two companies are worth naming because you deal with them directly: Plaid connects your accounts, and Apple handles sign-in and purchases. A third-party AI provider handles the budget analysis described below.

Behind those sit the ordinary vendors any app needs — hosting, subscription management, crash diagnostics, email delivery — each contractually bound to handle your data securely and use it only to run Bablo. The full policy breaks down what each category receives, and if you want to know precisely which companies we're using today, just ask us.

06What we use AI for, and what we don't

Bablo analyzes your recent transactions to spot patterns — which deposit is your paycheck, which charges are monthly bills, where your spending drifted this month. That analysis runs through a third-party AI provider acting strictly as our processor.

07Leaving is easy on purpose

Open the Me tab and tap Delete account. Your connections, transactions, goals, and profile are removed immediately and permanently, Bablo's connection to every linked bank is cut at the source, and we purge your records from our internal logs too. We don't keep our own backups, so nothing of yours lingers in one; any infrastructure snapshots our hosting provider keeps are on its own schedule and age out over time.

No retention offer, no support ticket, no "are you sure" maze. If you'd rather we handled it, email hello@babloapp.com from your account address and we'll take care of it.

Want the fine print?

Everything above is stated in full legal detail — including your state privacy rights, retention periods, and exactly what each vendor category receives.
