These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Pasika Labs LLC, a California limited liability company and the maker of Bablo (“Bablo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), and govern your access to and use of the Bablo mobile application, our websites, and related services (together, the “Service”). Please read them carefully. By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Plain-language summary (not a substitute for the full terms): Bablo helps you understand your money. We connect to your bank read-only through Plaid — we can see your transactions to budget, but we can never move your money. We do not sell your data. Bablo is a budgeting tool, not a bank, financial advisor, or accountant, so the numbers we show are estimates, not a statement.

Bablo is an early release, so expect rough edges. Paid plans are sold only through the Apple App Store: they renew automatically until you cancel, you cancel through Apple, and Apple — not us — handles refunds. Sections 10 and 11 spell all of that out.

1.Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account, downloading the app, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. These Terms apply to every visitor, user, and account holder. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Please note two provisions in particular: Section 18 limits our liability to you, and Section 23 requires most disputes to be resolved by binding individual arbitration rather than in court and waives class actions. Section 23 also describes how to opt out of arbitration within 30 days of accepting these Terms.

2.Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Bablo. The Service is currently offered to residents of the United States, and is intended for personal, non-commercial use. By using Bablo, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

Bablo is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

3.Your account

Most features require an account, created using a passwordless one-time code or Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the device and email address tied to your account, and for all activity that happens under it.

Keep the email address associated with your account current in the app.

4.Electronic communications

We communicate with you electronically: by email to the address on your account and by notices inside the app. You consent to receiving communications from us electronically — including sign-in codes, security and account notices, billing and subscription notices, and notices about changes to these Terms — and you agree that they satisfy any legal requirement that a communication be in writing.

Push notifications are optional and controlled by you, both in the app’s notification settings and in iOS Settings. You may turn off individual notification categories or all of them. Notifications you enable may include financial details, which may be visible on your lock screen.

Regardless of your notification settings, we may send service, security, legal, and billing notices necessary to operate your account. To withdraw your consent to electronic communications generally, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.

5.What Bablo does

Bablo is a personal-finance app that connects to your financial accounts to show you a clear picture of your money — including a “safe-to-spend” figure, spending insights, and savings goals. The figures, categories, projections, and recommendations Bablo produces are estimates generated from the data available to us. They may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate and should not be relied upon as a definitive record of your finances.

Transaction data may arrive late or change after posting, pending charges may differ from final amounts, categories may be inaccurate, and projections are estimates. Your financial institution’s own records, not the Service, are the authoritative record of your finances.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We may also impose limits on certain features or restrict access to parts of the Service without notice or liability.

6.Early releases & beta features

Bablo is an early-stage product, and parts of it are offered as a beta, preview, or early-access release. By using it at this stage you accept that:

Beta and preview features are provided “as is,” and the disclaimers in Section 17 and the liability limits in Section 18 apply to them in full. Feedback about beta features is subject to Section 15.

7.Bank connections & third-party services

Bablo connects to your bank and card accounts through Plaid Inc., a third-party data provider. When you link an account, you authorize Plaid to access information from your financial institution on your behalf, and you agree to Plaid’s end-user privacy policy.

When you link an account, you represent that you own it or are authorized to use it. You expressly authorize Bablo — acting through Plaid — to access the institution's systems on your behalf to retrieve your account information, and for that limited purpose you appoint Bablo and Plaid as your agent. When we do this, we act as your agent, not the agent of your financial institution.

You can disconnect a bank at any time from within the app, and deleting your account disconnects all of them (Section 21).

The Service also relies on other third-party providers — for example, hosting and database infrastructure, subscription management, crash reporting, product analytics, and email delivery. Our Privacy Policy lists the categories we use. Your use of a third party’s own service may be subject to its terms.

8.AI features — optional and off by default

Bablo's core analysis — recognizing your paychecks and recurring bills, forecasts, and the numbers behind Coach — is produced by our own deterministic code. Optional AI features are off until you enable them, and no data is shared with an AI service without your explicit in-app consent, which you can withdraw in the app at any time. See our Privacy Policy.

The following applies to any optional AI feature you enable:

9.Not financial, tax, or legal advice

Bablo is a budgeting and informational tool only. We are not a bank, broker-dealer, investment advisor, tax preparer, or accountant, and nothing in the Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. Before acting on anything you see in Bablo, consider verifying it against your official account statements and, where appropriate, consulting a qualified professional.

Bablo does not hold, transfer, or have custody of your money, and is not a money transmitter. We are not a credit-reporting agency, and nothing in the Service is a credit decision or a promise about your creditworthiness.

10.Plans, prices & free trials

Bablo is a paid subscription. Using it requires an active subscription — there is no free version. While we are in beta, we may open the app to everyone at no charge. We may end that at any time; we will provide notice in the app or by email before previously free access requires payment.

How purchases work

Subscriptions are sold exclusively as in-app purchases through the Apple App Store. Apple is the merchant of record: Apple charges you, Apple holds your payment details, and we never see or store your card number. We use a third-party subscription-management provider to track your subscription status; see our Privacy Policy.

Your subscription is tied to your Apple ID, not to your Bablo account. If you sign in to Bablo with a different email but the same Apple ID, tap “Restore purchases” on the paywall to reattach it. Where we enable Family Sharing, a subscription may be shared with your Apple Family group under Apple’s rules.

Plans and prices

We offer monthly and annual plans. The plan, the exact price in your local currency, the billing period, and the length of any free trial are shown on the purchase screen in the app before you confirm; that screen is the authoritative statement of the price you are agreeing to pay. Prices include tax where Apple collects it on our behalf; otherwise you are responsible for any tax that applies.

Free trials

We may offer a free trial. When we do:

Promotional and introductory pricing

If you subscribe at a promotional, introductory, or discounted rate, that rate applies only for the period stated in the offer. After it ends, the subscription renews at the standard price for your plan unless you cancel first.

Price changes

We may change our prices. A change never affects a billing period you have already paid for. We will give you notice before a new price takes effect, and where Apple’s rules require it, Apple will ask you to agree to the increase before charging it — if you do not agree, your subscription will not renew. Continuing your subscription after a price change takes effect means you accept the new price.

11.Renewals, cancellation & refunds

Automatic renewal

Paid subscriptions renew automatically. Apple charges your payment method within 24 hours before the end of each billing period, at the then-current price, for another period of the same length. This repeats until you cancel.

How to cancel

Cancellation is handled by Apple — we cannot cancel an App Store subscription on your behalf. On your iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Bablo → Cancel Subscription. Apple’s own instructions are at support.apple.com.

Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. If you cancel later, the next period will already have renewed and been charged.

What cancelling does

Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not end the period already paid for. Access continues until the end of that period, and the subscription lapses at its end. We do not prorate or refund partial periods.

After your subscription ends

When your subscription ends, so does your access to Bablo. You may lose access to the data in your account. You may resubscribe, or delete your account, at any time (Section 21).

Deleting your Bablo account does not cancel your subscription. Apple bills the Apple ID; you must cancel with Apple separately or charges will continue.

Failed payments

If Apple cannot charge your payment method, your subscription may enter a billing-retry or grace period set by Apple. Your access may be suspended, or your subscription ended, if payment is not collected.

Refunds

Because Apple is the merchant of record, purchases are final and all refunds are handled by Apple, under Apple’s policies rather than ours. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com or through Apple Support. We have no ability to issue, guarantee, or reverse an App Store refund.

If you believe a charge resulted from an error on our side, contact hello@babloapp.com and we will support your request with Apple where we can. Nothing in this section limits any refund or cancellation right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

12.Apple App Store terms

Because Bablo is distributed through Apple's App Store, the following terms also apply and control to the extent they conflict with anything else in these Terms:

13.Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Report security vulnerabilities to hello@babloapp.com. We will not pursue good-faith security research that respects other users’ data and does not degrade the Service.

14.Your content

Notes, savings goals, custom categories, planned expenses, spend watches, manual bills and income, and anything else you enter into Bablo is your content and remains yours. You grant us only the limited, non-exclusive license we need to host, store, back up, process, and display that content in order to operate the Service for you — including sending it to the providers described in Sections 7 and 8 where a feature you are using requires it. That license ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from the provider-level snapshots and security logs described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for the content you enter. Do not enter content you lack the right to use, other people’s sensitive personal information, or passwords, full account numbers, or security codes; the Service does not require them.

Your content is not made visible to other users except where you use a feature to share it.

15.Intellectual property & feedback

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, the Bablo name and logo, and all related intellectual property, is owned by Bablo or its licensors and is protected by law. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.

Feedback. If you send us ideas, suggestions, bug reports, or feature requests, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use them for any purpose without any obligation, attribution, or payment to you. Do not submit feedback that you consider confidential or expect to be compensated for.

16.Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal or financial data. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

17.Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that the financial information shown will be accurate, complete, or current. You use the Service at your own risk.

Without limiting that: we make no warranty about the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of data obtained from your financial institutions or from Plaid; about any projection, categorization, or recommendation the Service produces, including AI-generated output; or about the availability of any third-party service the Service depends on. Beta and preview features carry no warranty of any kind.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

18.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bablo and its officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, savings, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including any reliance on figures, projections, or recommendations it produces, and including bank fees, overdraft or insufficient-funds charges, missed payments, or late fees. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or US $50. These limits apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose, and they reflect a reasonable allocation of risk for a service offered at this price. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

19.Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bablo and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party. We may assume the exclusive defense of any matter subject to indemnification by you, at our own expense, and you agree to cooperate with us in that defense.

20.Disputes with third parties

The Service depends on third parties, including your financial institution or card issuer, Plaid, Apple, and the service providers we use to operate the Service. Any dispute between you and a third party is between you and that third party. You release Bablo and its affiliates from claims, demands, and damages of every kind arising out of or connected with any such dispute.

Fees your financial institution charges you — including overdraft, insufficient-funds, wire, and late fees — are a matter between you and that institution, including where a figure shown in the Service was inaccurate or out of date. Any liability of ours is governed by Section 18.

21.Suspension & termination

Deleting your account

You may stop using Bablo at any time and may delete your account from within the app or by emailing us. Deletion is immediate and permanent: we delete your Bablo data and instruct our Financial Data Provider to revoke your bank connections. Deletion cannot be undone, and we cannot recover your data afterward. The limited exceptions are described in our Privacy Policy.

Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription (Section 11).

Our right to suspend or terminate

We may suspend or limit your access — immediately and without notice where necessary — if we reasonably believe there is a security problem, fraud, abuse of the Service, a violation of Section 13, a legal or regulatory requirement, or a risk to other users or to us. We may terminate your account on notice if you materially breach these Terms and fail to cure the breach after notice, or if we discontinue the Service. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to cure first.

If we discontinue Bablo

If we discontinue the Service, we will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice and a period during which you may export or record your information before access ends.

Effect of termination

On termination, the license granted to you ends and you must stop using the Service. Any fees already paid are non-refundable except as required by law or Apple’s policies. Sections that by their nature should survive — including Sections 8 (last two bullets), 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, and 25 — survive termination.

22.Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, our practices, or applicable law. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above.

For material changes we will give you advance notice — in the app or by email to the address on your account — and say when the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after that date means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not accept the revised Terms, stop using the Service and delete your account before the effective date; if the change materially reduces what you get from a paid subscription you have already bought, you can also cancel under Section 11. Changes to Section 23 have their own rules, set out in that section.

23.Dispute resolution & arbitration

Please read this section carefully — it affects how claims between you and Bablo get resolved, and it limits your right to go to court or take part in a class action.

Informal resolution first. Before starting any formal proceeding, you agree to first email us at hello@babloapp.com with a notice describing your name, the email on your account, the nature of the dispute, and the relief you seek, and to allow 30 days for informal resolution. We agree to do the same before bringing a claim against you. If the dispute is not resolved within those 30 days, either of us may start arbitration. Any limitation period is paused while this process runs.

Binding individual arbitration. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and Bablo agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis, rather than in court. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. The arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, which cap the filing fee you pay — we pay the administrator and arbitrator fees those rules assign to us. The arbitration will take place in the county where you live, or remotely by video, phone, or written submissions — whichever you prefer. The arbitrator decides all questions of arbitrability, may award the same individual remedies a court could, and will issue a written decision explaining the essential findings. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction.

What this section does not cover:

No class actions; no jury trials. You and Bablo each waive the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in a class action, class-wide arbitration, or any other representative proceeding. Disputes may not be consolidated with anyone else’s, and the arbitrator may award relief only to the individual party who brought the claim. If a court finds this class-action waiver unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim — and only that claim — must proceed in court under Section 24, and the rest of this section still applies.

Coordinated claims. If 25 or more people bring substantially similar arbitration claims represented by the same or coordinated counsel, you and Bablo agree the AAA will administer them in batches of no more than 50 at a time, each batch heard by a single arbitrator, with one set of fees per batch. Batching does not merge any claim with another; each claim is decided individually.

Your right to opt out. You may opt out of this section entirely, with no effect on the rest of these Terms, by emailing hello@babloapp.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms (or, for existing users, within 30 days of this section first taking effect) with your name, the email on your account, and a statement that you are opting out of arbitration.

If we change this section. If we materially change this Section 23 after you accept it, you may reject the change by emailing us within 30 days of the change taking effect — in which case the version you last accepted continues to apply between us. Changes to this section never apply retroactively to a dispute we already knew about.

Survival. This section survives termination of these Terms and the end of your account.

24.Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and — where it applies — the Federal Arbitration Act. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. For anything Section 23 allows to be decided in court, you and Bablo consent to the jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located in Alameda County, California, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere. Nothing in these Terms deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer laws of the place where you live.

25.General terms

Entire agreement. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Bablo about the Service, and they supersede any prior understandings.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the rest of the Terms remain in full effect.

No waiver. If we don't enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets — in which case they continue to bind the successor.

Relationship of the parties. These Terms do not create a partnership, joint venture, employment, or franchise relationship between you and Bablo. The narrow agency you grant us in Section 7, solely to retrieve your account data on your behalf, is the only agency relationship these Terms create.

Third-party beneficiaries. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms as described in Section 12, and the parties released in Section 20 may rely on that release. Otherwise, these Terms create no rights for anyone who is not a party to them.

Export controls and sanctions. You represent that you are not located in, and are not a national or resident of, a country subject to a U.S. government embargo, and that you do not appear on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You agree not to use or export the Service in violation of U.S. export laws.

Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control — for example, outages at financial institutions or infrastructure providers, natural disasters, or government actions.

Notices. We send notices to the email address on your account or through the app; they are treated as received the day they are sent. Send legal notices to us at hello@babloapp.com, and include your name and the email on your account.

Cooperation with authorities. We may access, preserve, and disclose information about you where we reasonably believe the law requires it, or where it is necessary to investigate fraud or a security incident, enforce these Terms, or protect the rights and safety of our users or the public. Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle such requests.

Reporting to regulators is always allowed. Nothing in these Terms — including the acceptable-use, confidentiality, and dispute-resolution sections — prevents you from filing a complaint with, or communicating with, a government agency or regulator, or from receiving any award such an agency may offer. You do not need our permission to do so.

Language and interpretation. These Terms are written in English. If we provide a translation, it is for convenience only and the English version controls in the event of a conflict. Headings are for reference only. “Including” means “including without limitation.”

26.Notice for California users

Under California Civil Code §1789.3, California users are entitled to know that complaints may be filed with the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs, 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N-112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by phone at (800) 952-5210.

Automatic renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time, before the current period ends, through your Apple ID subscription settings — the steps are in Section 11. California residents who accepted an offer online may also cancel by emailing hello@babloapp.com, and we will submit the request to Apple.

27.Contact us

The Service is operated by Pasika Labs LLC, a California limited liability company. For questions about these Terms, contact hello@babloapp.com.

By using Bablo, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
